KKD walks a free Man as State finally drops charges.

An Accra High Court has dismissed the ongoing alleged rape case brought against ace broadcaster Kwesi Kyei Darkwah, known in showbiz as KKD.
This dismissal follows the filing of a 'Nolle Prosequi' by state prosecutors today, Wednesday, April 22, indicating their unwillingness to continue the case.
A statement presented to the court by state prosecutors and signed by the Attorney General, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, indicated that "the victim in this case Ewureffe is still very unwilling to testify in court. The victim states that she is highly traumatized by the events of the day of the incident and its aftermath and so is not in the right frame of mind to appear before court.

"Thus the Attorney General believes that it is not int he best interest of the victim and the prosecution to present her before the court at this point in time. The AG is mindful of the provisions under the prosecutors code one of which is that the best interest of the victim is to be considered in cases of this nature in deciding whether to prosecute a case or not."
The statement went on further to say "the other witnesses in this case who are mostly family members of Ewureffe are also very unwilling to testify. The Attorney General believed in the case so held on to it with the hope that witnesses would willingly appear to testify when they are needed by the court. This is not to say that the AG is unaware of the various legal processes at her disposal to compel the witnesses to appear before the court.

"It is to be noted that the Attorney General still believes in the case and reserves the right to commence the prosecution ones the victims and witnesses are ready."
The court had set April 22 to form the seven-member jury to rule on the case only for the state to file for a discontinuance.
The lady in question Ewureffe Orleans Thompson indicated her disinterest in the case but government said it had enough evidence to run the full haul.
The AG's decision, however, means although the case has been dismissed and the accused discharged, he has not been acquitted and the case could be recalled when the victim and other witnesses are willing to speak.

Bobbi Kristina set to die on same day as Her Mom Whitney Houston, February 11

http://www.remigh.blogspot.com-bobbi-n-whitney

There's a popular saying; You don't know the day yourself or someone else would die... but this is not the same when it comes to the Brown family, Tomorrow February 11, marks 3 years after the sudden demise of Singer, Song writer and Producer Whitney Houston.

Bobbi Kristina, the only daughter of Houston and Bobby Brown who was found unresponsive at home in her bath tub on January 31 has since been in a medically induced coma and on life support machine.

According to Pagesix.com, Bobbi’s grandmother Cissy Houston floated the idea of a Feb. 11 death over the weekend during discussions with the Brown family at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
The Browns gave their blessing to pull the plug at the stroke of midnight to align the date with the 2012 passing of the legendary singer at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The move is a symbolic way to keep the mother and daughter together for eternity, according to a Brown family source.

We at remiGh sincerely express our sympathy to the Brown family for their loss.

KKD failed to appear in court as case is Adjourned to February 15

Ghanaian Ace broadcaster Kyei Darkwah’s alleged rape case was reopened today but after a short back and forth, the case was adjourned to February 15.

KKD failed to appear in Court and according to reports, his absence nearly led to a warrant of arrest being issued for his arrest—but the Court did not proceed with the order after KKD’s lawyers pleaded that their client could not attend the hearing because he was admitted to the hospital.

Apparently KKD was rushed to the hospital last night and as such he could not make appearance. The prosecution however insisted the Court should have been made aware of this in writing…

For now, it looks like the State is not going to let the case rest and KKD and his lawyers seems to be also playing an adroit obstruction.

Ghanaian Actor, philanthropist and business mogul, John Dumelo who has been speculated to be going out with Ghanaian Actress and Producer Yvonne Nelson, today February 3, 2015 celebrates his 31st birthday.

Just yesterday, I watched his vlog on Pulse TV, melomoments and he was really keen of getting some presents from his fans on his birthday, he even took to social media this morning to post about his 31st birthday.

"Time is 6:46 am. first point of call today is the site. Mixing concrete and moving blocks. I'm blessed to be a year older today. God has been good to me. 31 ain't an easy age. In the next 10 years, I don't want my name in African Forbes but Global forbes. I want to be closer to God and want to be a motivation to people all over the world. I want to let people know you can achieve whatever you want if you put your mind to it. Happy birthday to me.....31 is the new 41!" He captioned.

Soon after he left home, driving around the streets of East Legon, near American house in Accra, he got the worst present for his birthday. John had a mini-truck run into into his Toyota Tundra but an eyewitness at the scene told Peacefmonline there were no casualties after the event.

Black dolls created by Nigerian man outselling Barbie dolls.

Since childhood I can't remember a time I came across a black pretty doll, its always been barbie everywhere and I strongly believe I'm not the only African child who will share this testimony.
I found this interesting article on dailymail.co.uk which was titled "Nigerian doll created by man who couldn't find a black toy for his niece is so popular in his country that it's outselling BARBIE"Here is what is said...

A man who couldn't find a black doll in the shops as a gift for his niece decided to take matters into his own hands.

In 2007, Taofick Okoya, 43, created his own doll that Nigerian girls could identify with by recreating their skin colour and style - and it is now so successful that it is outselling Barbie.

The doll, which is called Queens of Africa, comes with traditional outfits and accessories and costs around £4.50

The dolls' look is modelled on three of the country's biggest tribes and aims to promote strong feminine ideals, like love, peace and endurance.

The doll is now so popular that, according to Reuters, it is selling up to 9,000 units a month - a staggering 15 per cent of the country's toy market.

But the Queens of Africa aren't just selling in their home country. Thanks to the doll's online presence, customers are coming from as far as America, Brazil and Europe.

Speaking to ELLE about his dolls out-selling Barbie in his native Nigeria, Okoya said: 'My mission is to make the Queens of Africa a symbol of hope, trust, and confidence by promoting African history, culture, and fashion.'

One person that Okoya really hopes the dolls will have a positive impact on is his daughter, who, he explains, once wished she was white.

He explained that even though they live in Nigeria, there was a lot of Western influence. He said: '[This] might have been responsible for her wishing she was white. It made me aware that I needed to make her proud and happy being a black African girl, and not limit it to her alone as this was a common trend among the younger generation. The Queens of Africa became a platform to achieve this.'

Unfortunately, Okoya has been told that he won't be able to sell the dolls on the shelves of mainline stories in America and will have to limit his business to specialist stores.

But he is determined to see the decision overturned, he said: 'I am looking to prove them wrong.'

I hope this will reduce the rate of black African girls transitioning to white(bleaching).

Former GREDA boss nabbed in connection with sim box fraud.

http://www.remigh.blogspot.com-greda-boss

An anti-fraud collaboration between the security agencies and telecom service providers in the country has led to the arrest of some persons involved in a SIM Box fraud syndicate in Ghana.

The operation which led to the arrest of the suspects which included the former President of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association, (GREDA) Alex Tweneboah has been described as one of the major busts in recent times.

The suspects who have been named as Ebenezer Boateng, Victor Owusu, Kwadwo Asare, Alvin Habib, Francis Abbey, Alexander Tweneboah and David Ayikyi were paraded at a press conference together with their equipment in Accra on Monday.

Members of the syndicate according to the investigators, carried out the illegal termination of telephone calls also known as SIM box operations and deprived telecom operators and the state revenue.
Suspects arrested so far

Between October 2010 and August 2014, SIM box fraud cases recorded were 13, resulting in the arrest of 17 suspects made up of Ghanaians and foreign nationals.

One of the kingpins, an Italian arrested in connection with SIM box fraud, has been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment, while the other cases are pending before the courts.

What is SIM Box?

In recent times, fraudulent SIM Box operations have gained prominence in many parts of the world especially in Africa. The fraud takes place when individuals or organizations illegally terminate a voice call which is the preserve of registered licensed network operators, usually at lower cost than the approved rates.

These are then used to channel national or international calls away from licensed international gateway operators and presented as local calls on unlicensed networks.

The net result of this illegal termination of minutes is a significant loss of international call revenue to both mobile network operators and the state.

According to the National Communications Authority (NCA), such a development creates lower customer satisfaction and affects mobile networks through the removal of caller line identity, network congestion on same cell, high authentication attempts over networks as well as long waiting time and difficulty in connection.

Aside these, there is a generally poor quality of services including voice signal delay and an excessive number of dropped calls, according to the NCA.

The scale of SIM box fraud to the NCA is driven by the easy availability of GSM gateway hardware and the wide range of different offers available from mobile network operators, which makes it possible for organizations to effectively go into business, terminating GSM calls and generating thousands in revenue which, should otherwise have been collected by network operators.

Mortuary Man- I have never had seks with a live woman only dead women

http://www.remigh.blogspot.com-mortuary-man

Over the years, there's been rumors circulating in Ghana that mortuary men have seks with female corpses at the morgue. Most Ghanaian guys even say to ladies who give them hard times during proposal that upon all their beauty when they die, its the mortuary man who will enjoy their body.

We all thought that was just a normal saying until this mortuary man by the name Shakur Lucas who works at the Korle bu morgue confirmed to us he actually has seks with female dead bodies at the morgue during an interview on Adom tv.

His reasons was, whenever he approaches a woman to profess to love to, they accept but not after he opens up to them that he's a mortuary man.
According to him , he's never had seks with a live woman in his lifetime because no woman wants to befriend him because of his job, so he pays them back with a good seks at the morgue when they also die.

Shakur has been working as a mortuary attendant for the past 15 years and claims most Pastors, Food vendors, Prostitutes, and even Fraud (Sakawa) boys in Ghana come to buy corpse water from him which is very expensive to perform their own rituals.

My little advice to the ladies out there is very simple, don't make things too difficult for guys or else they will always pray for guys like Lucas to avenge them when you eventually die...
Keep it simple.

Power surge causes death of 7 month old baby.

remigh.blogspot.com-ecg

The recent power surge in Ghana is very disheartening, most businesses are collapsing due to the abrupt power failures. Its very difficult to tell when a particular area will experience power outage as a result of inadequate or no information to the general public.

A seven month old baby in Kasoa Galilea in the Central region is the latest casualty of a fire outbreak following a power surge due to the frequent power outages in the area.

According to eyewitness, due to the power surge, the bulb in the room burst and the bed on which the baby was sleeping on caught fire.

The baby, died from severe burns and smoke inhalation at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Residents of Kasoa Galilea accused Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) of failing to provide them with power for more than four days.

Mother of the deceased, Joyce Abgavitor who spoke on Joy News explained that she went out to fetch fire only to find smoke billowing from the room.

When she rushed to the scene, the lady said the fire was really raging so she could not enter to room to save her baby.

“I heard my baby screaming but there was nothing I could do” the distraught mother bemoaned.

Meanwhile, Eric Dorsese father of the deceased is demanding justice for the unfortunate death if his seven months old baby.

He blamed ECG for not adhering to the time table of the ongoing load shedding exercise.

Eric Dorsese appealed to help to help him bury his son.

Mark Zuckerberg sends message to Ghanaians

remigh.blogspot.com-mark-zuckerbergThe CEO and founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg last Thursday January 22, 2015 posted a message on his timeline with a picture of a Ghanaian business man named Dauda Musa.

Here is what he said "Today we're launching Internet.org in Ghana -- giving people on the Airtel network access to free basic internet services for education, health, jobs and communication.

Right now only about 12% of people in Ghana are connected to the internet, but connectivity is already improving people's lives and communities.

By connecting everyone, we hope to unlock even more opportunities for Ghana and people like Dauda Musa, pictured here.

Dauda runs a mobile money transfer business in Accra, and as the number of people with mobile phones has grown over the past few years, more people are using his service for business or to share money with friends and family.

Ghana is the fifth country we’ve connected through Internet.org -- after Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and Colombia.

Thank you to our community for your support and for pushing to bring Internet.org to more countries as we continue on our path to connect the whole world."

Ghana police informs public on new robbery stategies

remigh.blogspot.com-dcop-david-nenyi-ampah-bennin

The Director General of the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana Police Service, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Reverend David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin, has advised the general public to appreciate what they had and not be greedy as there were tricksters around taking advantage of people who want to cut  corners to make quick money.

The DCOP spoke to The Mirror in relation to smart  or ‘magic’ thieves who rely on their brains and brawn to steal from their victims because all they (thieves) need is attention for victims to willingly hand over their valued assets.

In  some cases, unsuspecting victims had gone to the extent of borrowing  items or money they did not have, to give to the thieves who are said to be operating by means of hypnosis.
Hypnosis

Hypnosis is an induced sleep-like state in which a person is deeply relaxed but  the mind responds easily to external suggestions. Hypnotized subjects are said to show an increased response to suggestions.
Process

Narrating her ordeal, a young lady who gave her name as Nana Ama, said she was approached in Accra Central by two young men who asked for directions to a popular bank around the Makola shopping mall.

Unaware of their agenda, she directed them to the bank but just as she was turning around to go away, one of the gentlemen informed her he had pure gold in his possession and asked if she was interested.

“I don’t sell  gold or deal in gold but for some strange reasons, I  told him I wanted to have a look at it so we moved to a less busy area around the shopping mall. Then he asked if I had GH¢1,000 on me,” she narrated.

Nana Ama said without any hesitation, she quickly pulled out  her purse and handed over GH¢ 300 to the gentleman as that was the only amount she had on her at the time.

The gentleman then handed her a white handkerchief and instructed her to hide it since it could be easily snatched by thieves.

It was after the men had left that she regained consciousness and realised she had been duped as the handkerchief contained an old washed-out necklace.
Another victim

A mobile phone recharge card seller at Adabraka also told The Mirror that she was in her shop when a young lady she knew came to buy recharge cards.

She said the lady who was speaking to someone on the phone requested for GH¢ 60 worth of the cards which she gave her.

She said the lady then scratched the cards and called out the digits to the person on the other side of the line.

She said she got worried when the lady asked for more cards and kept talking to the person on phone.

“This lady kept sending the phone credit to the guy he was talking to but because I know her, I didn’t say anything. It was when the amount reached GH¢400 that I told her to pay before asking for more.

“I overheard the man she was talking to tell her he would send the money through mobile money. That was when I realized she had been duped.   So I held her and demanded my money.  Just when the guy hang up, it looked like she had just woken up from sleep, she had no money on her.

“She then told me she received a message telling her she had won some money and that she needed to send some credit  so her prize  money could be sent to her,” she continued.

The card seller said she followed the lady home and collected the GH¢400 from her parents.
Police advice

DCOP Ampah-Bennin said the police had received several reports from victims on loss of property and money to strangers.

“The commonest of their tricks is to tell you they have  gold or diamond and then lure you into giving them money or an item to the value of the gold,” he said.

He cautioned the general public,  especially females, to be careful of how they interact with strangers, saying “if you meet a stranger and he or she asks  for directions, do not follow the person.

“Just point to the general direction and move away. If you are not lucky, you could also be harmed or sexually abused in addition to being duped,” he stressed.

“On the bilateral corporation level we have strong corporation in the area of energy and renewable power and KFW is financing several projects in Ghana in the way of energy. We are working with KFW to increase the power we get from solar energy into Ghana’s transmission grid,” he said.

President Mahama further indicated that Ghana is a lower income country, he was expressed that the country is progressing into a middle income status “and we are seeing a strong demand for skilled professionals in terms of technical experience and so we want to see how vocational and technical training can be strengthened in order that we are able to produce more middle level manpower.”

The Award winning actress,'Say no to skin bleaching crusader',Dark and Lovely brand ambassador Television presenter and producer, today tweeted on her tweeter handle @Ama_K_Abebrese why she started the "I love my skin tone Say no to skin bleaching campaign".

www.remigh.blogspot.com-bleach-not
Here is exactly what she posted on instagram "People wonder what motivated me to start #ilovemynaturalskintone #saynotoskinbleaching campaign. It's because of billboards like this mounted right next to a Girls secondary school in the centre of Accra. Just one of many encouraging Africans to whiten their skin. Its shocking that they are even allowed. Hopefully soon billboards like will soon be a thing of the past".

Its very obvious that messages on such billboards will have negative impacts on the on these girls.
I am beginning to understand the reason why dark to white skin transition is on a high rate in the country at the moment.

180 terrorists killed in Cameroon

remigh.blogspot.com-cameroonian-soldiersAccording to military sources, about 180 members of Boko Haram have been killed in Northern Cameroon.
The terrorists were killed during a battle in Amchide, a town bordering Nigeria, Chinese news agency, Xinhua reports.
The raid on the town was reportedly conducted by about 400 insurgents but they were successfully pushed back by the Cameroonian troops.
Cameroon has suffered attacks from the group largely due to its expansive border with Nigeria. This has led the Cameroonian government to consider making terrorism a crime punishable by death.
